Home Starting out Taking Control The Yes Roll

Taking control of you sales and of your life are both important factors for a successful career in direct sales.  Taking control of a sale is about pitching in a way to increase your chances of making sales.

So the secret to keeping control of a sale is to ask questions you normally would get a yes response to or one that avoids a no.  So here are some examples:

  • I assume you like saving money
  • Did you want 1 or 2
  • Did you want to pay by card are cash
  • How fast do you want it delivered
  • Do you just want this one or are you looking for others aswell

There are loads of questions you can use to increase your chances of a yes.  Again if you need a bill or document, if you ask the question "Do you have the bill to hand?", this gives control to the customer, 9 times out of 10 the customer will say no.  So a better way is to say "Could you just get me the bill so I can compare prices and see how much i can save you" will increase your chances greatly.

Being confident will help you keep control, by saying things like "have a look at this" and handing a product over to the customer, their natural reaction is to take it.  By that small action you have just increased you chances of a sale massively. Sometimes a customer won't give you it back!!!
